Train as a coach

Module 2C Course Seminars Overview

Course Content

The content of this course is informed by Psychosynthesis, Tri-Focal Vision, and 5DL. These elements will be integrated into all skills taught throughout the module.

Each session will begin with an Identification–Dis-Identification Exercise, recommended as a daily practice and introduced as a method for Coachees to experience “the more than.” This practice moves the Coach beyond concrete, rational thinking and hypothesis, opening pathways to the Abstract Mind and the Emergent.

Students will learn and practice the skill of listening within the “Still Place,” experiencing the Emergent firsthand. This is not merely a theoretical model but an experiential process.

For coaching within Humanity in Transition, there’s a need to transcend traditional methods. Students will explore what lies beyond the Known and what is attempting to emerge through the current world. This involves identifying gaps for Coachees, for themselves, and for their roles in organizations and understanding the qualities or valencies they need to manifest in the world.

Module 3C Course Seminars Overview

Psychosynthesis Leadership and Organisational Coaching Seminars

Overview:

These seminars cover core principles in psychosynthesis leadership and coaching, applying the 5DL and 1DL frameworks to coaching individuals, teams, and organizations. The sessions focus on professional identity, self-awareness, and practical challenges in coaching.

1. 5DL/1DL Overview (2 Days)

5DL Review: A model of coaching that applies to individuals, teams, and organizations.

Professional Practice: Address practical, personal, and professional challenges; cultivate your unique coaching identity and approach.

Tri-Focal Vision: Reposition Tri-Focal Vision and work with incremental, actionable steps.

2. 1DL: Self-Reflective Awareness

Core Concept: Develop the ability to self-reflect, differentiating self-reflection from reactive thinking. This awareness shifts focus inward, understanding internal thoughts and feelings rather than external reactions.

Key Exercises: Reflect on mindsets and their impacts:

• Describe the mindset and assess its strength (score 1–10).

• Explore origins and reasons for its formation.

• Examine its limitations and evaluate the need for its ongoing presence.

Developing Deeper Levels of Awareness

2DL/3DL: Awareness of Others and System Dynamics (2 Days)

3. 2DL: Interpersonal Awareness

Focus: Understand impact on others, recognize individual and cultural differences, and the dynamics within groups and teams.

Skills Developed:

Levels of Listening (from Joseph Jaworski): Practice listening techniques for deeper team understanding.

Team Profiling and Building: Use tools like 360-degree feedback, team profiling, and group dynamics facilitation.

Importance of Team-Building: Team-level changes often drive larger organizational impact—“Think globally, act locally.”

4. 3DL: Systemic Awareness

Concept: Recognize system forces and dynamics that shape organizational culture and behavior.

Model Used: Kilmann’s Holographic Diamond Model of Culture (1984) is introduced as a framework.

Higher Levels of Leadership and Willingness

4DL/5DL: Higher-Level Leadership and Systemic Responsiveness (2 Days)

5. 4DL: Will and Resilience

Objective: Develop the capacity to act decisively despite challenges, embodying the will to persevere.

Approach: Coaches learn to support leaders in standing firm, adapting, and ensuring delivery and follow-through.

6. 5DL: Openness and Support

Skill: Encourage leaders to seek appropriate help and accept support, fostering humility and openness to feedback.

Outcome: Leaders learn to connect to core values, enabling constructive self-reflection, course corrections, and fostering genuine relationships.

Psychosynthesis Psychology Seminars

7. PT7a: Triphasic Model (2 Days)

Purpose: Explore the Triphasic Model (Joan Evans, 1995) as a framework in psychospiritual psychology, covering the prepersonal, personal, and transpersonal dimensions of consciousness.

8. CT6a: Transference and Countertransference (2 Days)

Objective: Deepen understanding of transference and countertransference, exploring their roles in therapeutic containment and client dynamics.
