Psychotherapeutic Training Modules
Advanced Clinical Therapeutic Training Overview
This program offers a structured clinical block system leading to advanced diplomas in Psychotherapeutic Counselling and Psychotherapy, with pathways for UKCP accreditation through PIPC and HIPC.
Program Duration: 2.5 additional years following Modules 1 & 2 and pre-clinical counselling skills.
Taught Components (Delivered Over 2.5 Years)
Block 1 (1st Year of Advanced Clinical Training)
• Introduction to Psychosynthesis Counselling and Psychotherapy
• The Chakras: An exploration of energy centers in relation to psychological processes.
• Ego Development and Object Relations
• Transference and Countertransference
• The Triphasic Model: A framework for understanding consciousness in therapy.
Block 2 (2nd Year)
• The Symbolic Imagination: Engaging symbols for therapeutic insights.
• Imagination and Dreamwork: Techniques for exploring subconscious material.
• Embodied Change (Part 1): Integrating bodily awareness in therapy.
• Theory to Practice: Applying psychosynthesis theories in clinical settings.
• Reading and Written Requirements:
• Term Papers (2,500 words each): Topics include Narcissism and the Self and The Triphasic Model.
Block 3 (Also in 2nd Year)
• Strategies and Processes of Change
• Sexuality and Spirituality: The Erotic Transference
• Sexual Diversity: Working with diverse sexual identities.
• Psychiatry and Psychotherapy: Interface between psychological and medical approaches.
• Neuropsychology in Psychotherapy: Understanding brain functions relevant to therapy.
• Block 4: Term Paper 10; Qualifying Clinical Case Study (CS4) [5,000 words for Counselling; 8,000 words for the Psychotherapy Diploma if no thesis completed].
Block 4 (3rd Year)
• Repression, Denial, and Splitting: Mechanisms in coping with conflict.
• Addictions and Eating Disorders: Specialized therapeutic approaches.
• Soul Trauma and Trauma Therapy
• Embodied Change (Part 2): Advanced techniques for body-inclusive therapy.
• Psychotherapy and Spirituality
• Reading and Written Requirements:
• Block 3: Term Paper 9 (2,500 words).
Psychological Development and Experiential Components
• Right Relations Intensives
• Large Group Experience: Developing relational skills in group dynamics.
• Group Supervisions
• Personal Therapy Requirements: Minimum 120 hours for psychotherapeutic counselling and 160 hours for psychotherapy.
Skills Training and Mental Health Familiarisation
For those pursuing psychotherapy, practical experience in a multi-disciplinary NHS team is essential, demonstrating hands-on familiarity with diverse mental health services.
